Sunday School
On Sunday mornings, following the “Time for Young Christians” the children and youth leave worship, and head to their Sunday School classes. Following our new “Walk With Me” curriculum, each week students engage in discussion around a lesson, as well as crafts and activities. These classes run until 11:15 a.m., and are grouped by age.
- Pre-K/Kindergarten – meets in room 4 downstairs in the Church building
- Grades 1-3 – meets in room 3 downstairs in the Church building
- Grades 4-5 – meets in room 2 downstairs in the Church building
- Grades 6-8 – meets in room 1 downstairs in the Church building, on all but the first Sunday of the month. On that Sunday, these youth are encouraged to remain in worship so they can participate in the sacrament of communion.
- High School – meets in the lower room in Hebron House (the youth room) on the second, fourth and fifth Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday of the month, the Senior High are encouraged to remain in worship to participate in communion. On the third Sunday of the month, the Sunday School class meets at 10 a.m. and goes on “field trips” to broaden their educational experience.
Each of the Sunday School classes has age-appropriate learning objectives which the students are to accomplish during the year. For the younger children this would include learning simple prayers and the Lord’s Prayer; for the older youth this would include learning the Apostles’ Creed, the books of the Bible, the Beatitudes, and the Ten Commandments.
